NEW LENTON COAL PROJECT
A project based on a Resource Estimate of 84 million tonnes (Mt). Open cut operations targeting the Leichardt & Vermont Seams of the Rangal Coal Measures & underground operations targeting the Vermont Seam. Based on a Total ROM Coal Reserve estimate of 19Mt, Total Marketable Coking Coal Reserve of 6.6Mt & Total Marketable Thermal Coal Reserve at 6.1Mt. Stage 1 includes initial recommencement of open cut & underground operations on ML70337 to generate up to 2 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of run-of-mine (ROM) coal. On securing of appropriate rail & port capacity, Stage 2 open cut expansion requiring new out-of-pit dumps for 8 Mtpa to be processed through a new coal handling & preparation plant (CHPP) which would produce up to 5Mtpa of coking & thermal coal products for export, for up to 25 years. The plant to include a Run-of-Mine (ROM) pad, ROM coal delivery system, coal washery module, coal waste delivery system (tailings & coarse rejects), clean coal stockpile, power supply system, offices & workshops. Stage 3 to transition to wholly underground operations by a series of drives through the open cut pit highwall then development of bord-and-pillar mining.
