About
Clare McAlpine loves her role as a dedicated Project Coordinator, leading education and awareness programs to support METS businesses throughout the Greater Whitsunday region with their decarbonisation efforts. Since starting with GW3 in 2023, Clare’s operations, project delivery, finance and business skills have been activated to help deliver the Greater Whitsunday Decarbonisation Accelerated Project.
With the region paving the way in decarbonisation education, awareness and activation, Clare works directly with businesses, while also delivering whole-of-community programs, to support businesses across the METS sector and broader economy. Her goal is to ensure these businesses are well-prepared to embrace decarbonisation strategies, fostering economic resilience for both the businesses and the entire region.
Originally from Sydney and now based in Mackay, Clare is inspired by the region’s capacity for adaptation and innovation. She believes that transitioning to decarbonisation presents new economic prospects for METS businesses, ensuring the region remains a focal point for Queensland’s economy. Clare is committed to realising the Decarbonisation Accelerated Vision for the region, aiming to reduce carbon output while diversifying the economic base for long-term prosperity.
