Greater Whitsunday Grant Finder launched to highlight grant opportunities.

Greater Whitsunday businesses and community groups will now have great visibility of grant and funding opportunities, with the launch of Greater Whitsunday Grant Finder

Greater Whitsunday Grant Finder is a joint initiative of Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday Regional Councils and Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3).

Greater Whitsunday Grant Finder, powered by GrantGuru a grant indexing company, helps businesses and community groups to search for government and non-government grant opportunities in one place.

GW3 Chief Executive Officer Ms Kylie Porter said the platform was developed through a shared vision of the three regional councils to empower our regional business and community members with greater access to funding opportunities.

“The launch of the Greater Whitsunday Grant Finder is part of GW3’s Grant and Funding Service program and will extend the awareness of a range of funding opportunities for our region.

“This platform gives access and guidance to businesses and community groups to apply for funding as well as a framework to help you successfully apply for funding.”

Ms Porter said this platform was vital to ensure the Greater Whitsunday region receives a fair share of grant funding to support economic growth.

“The more successful Greater Whitsunday business and community groups are in accessing grants, the greater economic and social outcomes there will be for our region,” Ms Porter said.

GrantGuru Executive Manager Mr Peter Jeffery said GW3 is using regional grant awareness in a unique fashion and demonstrates their understanding of the opportunity that grants offer within Australia.

“When regions wonder why they’ve been left out of the funding mix, it’s often obvious that their approach to the grants landscape is lacking.

“Well done to the GW3 team for introducing a regional solution and utilising the grant information provided by GrantGuru in an integral manner for economic growth planning,” Mr Jeffery said.

The Greater Whitsunday Grant Finder was launched by Mackay Regional Council Mayor Greg Williamson last week at the Mackay Business Grant Writing Workshop.

The grant writing workshop was one of four workshops across the Mackay and Isaac region to provide businesses and community groups with tools and templates to be grant ready; how to unravel grant guidelines and criteria along with hands on grant writing techniques.

According to the statistics from the workshop survey, 100% of participants saw an improvement in their understanding of grant writing following the training; while 100% of those who attended felt more confident to apply for grants after the training than before.
