GW3 is an independent, regional economic development body that represents and advocates for the Mackay Isaac Whitsunday region.

GW3 are future-focussed super-connectors driving sustainable economic growth for the Greater Whitsunday region.

GW3 has identified five strategic and interconnected accelerators that exist across all sectors, and targeted programs with distinct focus on specific regional needs and challenges. Everything we do is underpinned by our core roles – Advocate, Collaborate, Attract and Inform.

Funding and Partnerships

GW3 receives operational funding from Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday Regional Councils. It also receives partnership funding from a range of sources and receives project and grant funding. The organisation is led by an independent governance board; has a Chief Executive Officer and an administration, communications and project team located across the entire region.

GW3 is also the parent company of C-Res, a cost-neutral entity which delivers the Local Buying Program in partnership with BHP across BHP communities of interest in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.
