Decarbonisation Accelerated aims to support, educate, and motivate businesses and industries to start their decarbonisation journey.

The purpose of the Decarbonisation Accelerated project is two-fold:

Securing the traditional sectors of the Greater Whitsunday region through decarbonisation strategies; and empowering new opportunities in emerging and decarbonised industries.
Everyone stands to play a part in decarbonisation, and businesses across all industries will soon need to demonstrate the steps they are taking to decarbonise if they are to remain competitive in supply chains.

Lead by GW3, CQUniversity has launched a free online microcredential designed to equip local businesses with the skills and insights to decarbonise and stay competitive in a changing global economy.

The Decarbonisation Accelerated project, under the auspices of Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3), recently undertook an expression of interest to hear from businesses and consultants specialising in ESG. After the evaluation of submissions, GW3 is pleased to provide Greater Whitsunday businesses seeking ESG support, with a list of ESG providers for their consideration.

What is ESG?

ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance, a framework used to assess a company’s sustainability and ethical impact, focusing on their impact on the environment, society, and their governance practices. In essence, ESG helps assess how well a company is managing its risks and opportunities related to these non-financial areas.
