THE CARMICHAEL COAL HANDLING PLANT (CHP) PROJECT – RECLAIM TUNNEL
The Carmichael Coal Handling Plant (CHP) Project includes the construction of a new reclaim conveyor tunnel and an interconnecting emergency escape tunnel. The reclaim conveyor tunnel encapsulates the reclaim conveyor and is located below two (2) adjacent coal stockpiles, which is reclaimed using four (4) reclaim valves. The reclaim conveyor tunnel is constructed using a concrete footing with a corrugated steel arch structure. The attached documents detail the requirements for a steel arch tunnel (reclaim conveyor tunnel) and a smaller diameter tunnel (emergency escape tunnel). The two (2) tunnels shall be referred to as the Reclaim Tunnel within this document. The scope includes the design, supply, fabricate, surface treatment, testing, quality control, documentation, packaging and delivery for the Carmichael Coal Mine CHP Project Reclaim Tunnel Supply ready for operation in accordance with the tenderdocuments. The equipment shall suit the duty, service and operating conditions set out with special emphasis on safety, design life and reliability.
