About
Kylie’s Mackay Isaac Whitsunday connections run deep. As a fifth-generation local she has a deep belief in the region, its community, and the vast potential that comes from a diverse and future-ready economy. To the role of Chief Executive Officer of Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3), Kylie brings a suite of skills and years of experience, enabling her to develop vital connections between industry and other regional sectors, as well as government and community, while advocating for the Greater Whitsunday Region at regional, state, national and international levels.
Kylie invests in the region her drive to make Mackay, Isaac, Whitsunday stronger, more resilient, and future ready for the generations to come. Initially engaged in 2018 as GW3’s Development + Innovation Manager 2018, she worked with inaugural CEO Garry Scanlan to deliver a range of outcomes including preparing workforces of the future, diversifying the regional economy and enhancing regional innovation. In 2019, upon Garry’s departure from the region, Kylie was appointed CEO.
Before GW3, Kylie owned a successful marketing and communications business. During her 20 years in that business, she held a range of community and business leadership roles – including President and Vice President of the Mackay Region Chamber of Commerce, and Director of Regional Development Australia: Mackay Isaac Whitsunday.
Kylie was also Board Chairman of C-RES (Community Resourcing) which, in partnership with BHP, delivers the Local Buying Program in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia. When appointed CEO of GW3, she stepped down from the role of chairman – though she remains a C-RES board member – to focus on her chief executive duties.
