Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the Greater Whitsunday are being invited to take part in a new ESG Masterclass and Mentoring Series, as the region’s ESG capability is strengthened with five new providers joining the Greater Whitsunday ESG Service Provider Network.

The expanded network welcomes Aethiro, AgTech Industries, Aurecon, Circulr and Futures Foundry, joining an established group of trusted experts across environmental, social and governance disciplines. Together, they provide a central point of access for local organisations seeking practical support in sustainability, reporting and decarbonisation.

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) refers to the way a business manages its environmental impact, supports its workforce and community, and governs its operations to manage risk and build longterm resilience.

Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3 ) Chief Executive Officer Ms Kylie Porter said building strong local ESG capability was critical to the region’s economic future.

“For SMEs, embracing ESG as a core operating principle of their business is about- reducing costs and improving efficiency to meeting customer, supply chain and regulatory expectations,” Ms Porter said.

“By strengthening our local ESG Service Provider Network and connecting SMEs directly with practical tools, mentoring and expertise, we’re helping businesses turn ESG into an advantage, not an added burden.

Delivered by Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3), the ESG Masterclass and Mentoring Series is a free, hands-on program for eligible SMEs from any industry, designed to turn ESG from a buzzword into clear, workable actions that strengthen business competitiveness, improve sustainability performance and identify cost- -saving opportunities.

The program includes:

  • Three expert-led masterclasses delivered between May and September 2026
  • Up to four hours of tailored mentoring with a Greater Whitsunday ESG Service Provider
  • An ESG AI Business Health Check
  • 12 months’ access to the ESG AI tool, valued at $500 – to help guide and track your ESG journey.

“This program is about making ESG workable, relevant and achievable for businesses of all sizes and across all industries in our region.”

The first masterclass will be held in Mackay on 19 May from 8:00am to 12:00pm, with limited places available.

An ESG Masterclass Roadshow for the Isaac and Whitsunday regions will follow later in the year. The Decarbonisation Accelerated project is proudly delivered by Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3) and funded by the Local Buying Foundation (LBF).
