Business and community members will hear directly from the Deputy Premier of Queensland, the Honourable Jarrod Bleijie MP, Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning and Minister for Industrial Relations, when he visits the Greater Mackay on 1 July to deliver a Queensland Budget briefing for regional leaders, business and industry.
The briefing, Priorities & Pipeline, is being presented by the Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3) in partnership with the region’s local Members of Parliament, the Honourable Amanda Camm MP, Minister for Families, Seniors and Disability Services and Minister for Child Safety and the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence, Glen Kelly MP, Member for Mirani, and Nigel Dalton MP, Member for Mackay, and comes at an important time for a region driven by nationally significant industries and strong economic momentum.
The briefing will follow the release of the Queensland Budget on June 24th and will outline the State Government’s priorities, economic direction and forward project pipeline, with a focus on the implications for regional delivery, investment and growth across the Greater Whitsunday region.
GW3 Chief Executive Officer Ms Kylie Porter, said the event was an important opportunity to ensure the region’s business and community leaders have access to clear and localised information on the Queensland Government’s priorities.
“The Greater Whitsunday region is powered by strong industries, strong communities and a significant contribution to the Queensland economy, so it is important our business and community leaders have the opportunity to hear directly from Government about what the Budget means for our region,” Ms Porter said.
“This event is about sharing timely information on the Queensland Budget with our regional community and providing a direct opportunity to hear from senior decision-makers about the priorities, projects and investment settings that will shape local outcomes,” Ms Porter said.
“By working in partnership with our local Members of Parliament, GW3 is pleased to bring this important briefing to the Greater Whitsunday region while also highlighting the strength and importance of our local industries and economy to Queensland.
