Ms. Porter joined GW3 in 2017 and has served as Chief Executive Officer since 2019. During her tenure, she has played a pivotal role in strengthening the organisation’s profile and impact through investment attraction, industry development, regional advocacy and strategic initiatives that have delivered lasting benefits for the Greater Whitsunday region.

GW3 Chair Tony Caruso said Ms. Porter has made an exceptional contribution to both the organisation and the broader region.

“Kylie has been an outstanding leader for GW3 and a tireless advocate for the Greater Whitsunday region. Under her leadership, the organisation has matured significantly, strengthened its influence and partnerships, and delivered meaningful outcomes that have enhanced the economic prosperity and reputation of our region.

“While we are naturally disappointed to see Kylie leave, we are incredibly proud of her achievements and grateful for the dedication, professionalism and vision she has brought to GW3 over the past nine years. Her appointment to lead the Queensland Farmers’ Federation is a testament to the calibre of leadership she has demonstrated, and we wish her every success in this exciting next chapter.”

Mr. Caruso said GW3 was well positioned for the future and would continue to build on the strong foundations established during Ms. Porter’s leadership.

“Thanks in large part to Kylie’s leadership, GW3 retains a very strong outlook. We have a clear strategic direction, strong relationships across government and industry, a highly capable Board and leadership team, and a talented group of professionals who are deeply committed to the future of our region.

“Our experienced team will continue to deliver on GW3’s priorities and support our members, stakeholders and regional partners while the Board undertakes a comprehensive recruitment process to appoint the organisation’s next Chief Executive Officer. We are confident the organisation is well placed to continue its momentum and deliver positive outcomes for the Greater Whitsunday region.”

Ms. Porter said leaving GW3 was not a decision she had made lightly.

“Leading GW3 has been one of the greatest privileges of my professional life. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and deeply grateful for the support of the Mayors of Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday Regional Councils, the GW3 Board, our partners and the exceptional GW3 team.”
