Mackay businessman John Fordyce has been appointed as a director to the Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3) board.

Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3) is leading the way to showcase Mackay Isaac Whitsunday (MIW) as a region tackling head on the challenges and opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3) this week is launching the MIW Business Wellbeing Service to provide mental health support to Mackay Isaac Whitsunday small business owners.

Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3) Chairperson Mr John Glanville has announced his retirement after almost four years of championing the Mackay Isaac Whitsunday (MIW) region as the inaugural Chairperson.

Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3) is this week launching the My Digital Coach program to assist small business in the Mackay Isaac Whitsunday region recover from the COVID- 19 pandemic impacts on the economy.

Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3) has launched a community activation campaign #wepledgelocal designed to encourage the community of Mackay Isaac Whitsunday to love their local business and keep supporting them however they can.

The findings of the study show that the Mackay Isaac Whitsunday region strengths were diverse resulting from a stable climate and good natural resources, which makes the region capable of producing a variety of different products.

“The Activate program is about providing an environment for our region’s future entrepreneurs to take their ideas out of the classroom and into the world and GW3 is delighted to be involved,” Ms Porter said.

“To remain economically strong whilst at the same time work on transitioning our economy into new industries and focus areas requires a collaborative approach and I believe that GW3 is the perfect organisation to be leading this strategic direction”
